Independent Sales Representative

Commission-only, independent contractor. You find and sign the clients; we handle everything after that. Keep 25% of what they pay us for the first year, then 10% for as long as they stay.

Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned
1099 independent contractor
No cap, no territory limits
Residual pays for the life of the client

What it pays

25% of what your clients pay us in their first year, then 10% for as long
as they stay. No cap.
It compounds: every client you sign keeps paying you
while you sign the next one.

Sign one typical client a month:

Year 1one client a monthabout $67,000
Year 2one client a monthabout $128,000
Year 3one client a monthabout $163,000

Two a month roughly doubles it: about $135,000 in
year one and $257,000 in year two. Even if you stopped selling after
your first year, those 12 clients would keep paying you about $35,000 a
year
for as long as they stay.

How we got there: each client is an 18-person office on our $135-per-user plan
($2,430 a month), plus a typical first-year project mix of cabling, an AI build and a
website, and every client stays. Your results depend on the size and number of clients
you bring in. Commission is paid only on what clients actually pay us, and the first
check is usually 60 to 120 days out.

What one client looks like: $607 a month to you in their first year
($7,290), plus about $1,825 from their projects — $9,115 in year one,
then $243 a month for as long as they stay. Users or services a client adds later earn
the same rate. Hardware and software licenses are pass-through and do not count.

This is a commission-only contract position. There is no base salary, no
draw, and no employee benefits — you are paid entirely on what the clients
you bring in actually pay us.

Who does well here

  • You already call on local businesses — telecom, office equipment, payroll, insurance, security systems, commercial real estate — and want a recurring-revenue line that doesn’t compete with what you sell now
  • B2B sales experience, ideally with a consultative, relationship-led cycle
  • People in the Colorado Springs business community already know you
  • You explain why backups and cybersecurity matter without the jargon, and say “let me get our engineer on that” instead of guessing
  • Reliable transportation, and you like meeting prospects in person

What the work involves

  • Finding prospects your own way: chambers, networking, referral partners, LinkedIn, and relationships you already have
  • Qualifying them: headcount, current IT, what’s frustrating them, and any HIPAA or CMMC obligations
  • Bringing qualified prospects to a scoping call with our owner, who builds the proposal from published pricing
  • Taking the deal through to a signed agreement
  • Registering prospects with us, so credit is never in question. We answer within 2 business days, and an accepted prospect is yours for 90 days, extended with each scoping call or proposal

The terms

  • Independent contractor (1099). You set your own hours and methods and use your own phone, computer, and vehicle.
  • No non-compete. Keep selling what you sell now. If you also represent another IT services provider, tell us, and don’t register the same prospect with both.
  • Paid on what clients actually pay. Commission is paid by the 15th of each month, based on what your clients paid us the month before. Onboarding-fee commission is paid once the client has paid for three months of service.
  • What counts: our service revenue — managed services fees, onboarding fees, billed labor, AI builds, consulting, and website hosting. Hardware, software licenses, and other pass-through costs are excluded.
  • Your clients keep paying you. If our agreement ends for any reason other than cause, you keep earning on the clients you brought in for as long as they stay. The agreement lets us buy that out for a lump sum.
  • The full terms are set out in a written agreement we both sign before you start.

On-Site Field Engineer

1099 independent contractor · Paid per visit · Colorado Springs and surrounding

The person who actually shows up. When a client needs hands
on a workstation, a server, or a rack, you are the one who drives out and fixes
it — on your own schedule, taking the dispatches that suit you.

This is not a salaried position and it is not full-time. We send you the work,
you accept what you want, and you invoice us for it. Take one visit a month or
ten; there is no minimum and no exclusivity.

What it pays

$65 to $85 per hour during standard business hours, and
$95 to $110 per hour for after-hours and emergency callouts,
with a two-hour minimum on every dispatch — if a job takes twenty
minutes, you are still paid for two hours. Mileage is paid beyond 25 miles from
central Colorado Springs. Project and cabling work is quoted per job.

You invoice us for accepted visits and we pay within 15 days. There is no
base, no benefits, and no guaranteed volume: you are paid for the work you take.

Who does well here

  • You already do field or desktop support work — for an MSP, a break/fix shop, a VAR, or on your own — and want additional dispatches that fit around what you do now
  • You own your tools, carry your own vehicle insurance, and have a clean driving record
  • You can be trusted in a server room and in a front office, and you talk to the client rather than past them
  • You are willing to pass a background check — some of our clients are medical practices and defense contractors, and their sites require it
  • Most dispatches fall on weekdays during business hours, Monday through Wednesday especially. Telling us honestly when you are available matters more than being available often

What the work involves

  • Workstation and server work: hardware installs, imaging, replacements, and break/fix
  • Swapping and installing network gear — firewalls, switches, access points — to a configuration we hand you
  • Structured cabling runs and terminations, and cleaning up racks that were never done properly
  • On-site troubleshooting when something cannot be fixed remotely, with one of our engineers on the phone if you want them
  • Site surveys before a project, and photographs and notes afterwards so the documentation actually matches the site

The terms

  • Independent contractor (1099). You use your own tools and vehicle, carry your own insurance, and decide which dispatches to accept and when you are available.
  • No exclusivity and no non-compete. Keep your own clients and keep working for whoever else you work for. We only ask that you not solicit the clients you meet through us.
  • You are never obligated to take a job. Decline anything, for any reason, without it affecting what we send you next.
  • Paid on invoice, within 15 days, for accepted and completed visits at the agreed rate.
  • Background check before your first dispatch, because client sites require it.
  • The full terms are set out in a written agreement we both sign before you start.

About Summit Networks

Service-disabled veteran-owned, serving small and mid-sized businesses across
Colorado Springs, Florissant, and Divide: managed IT, cybersecurity, networking,
cloud and Microsoft 365, VoIP, structured cabling, and backup and disaster
recovery, plus HIPAA and CMMC compliance work for medical practices and defense
contractors.

Most clients come to us because their last provider stopped answering the
phone, or because a compliance deadline arrived sooner than they expected.
That’s an easy conversation to start.

Veterans and transitioning service members are especially encouraged
to apply.

Not this role?

Those are the two positions open right now. We hire ahead of need for other
service delivery roles — help desk, systems and network engineering,
cybersecurity, compliance, cabling and project coordination — and we go to
the résumés already on file before anything is advertised. Send yours to
careers@summitnet.io, tell us what you do, and you’ll get a real
reply from a real person telling you honestly where that work sits for us.

How to apply

Email careers@summitnet.io with either “Independent Sales
Representative” or “On-Site Field Engineer” in the subject line.
Sales applicants: tell us who you sell to today and how you find new business.
Field applicants: tell us what you work on, what you drive, and when you are
available. A résumé is welcome but not required. A real person replies to
every application: a 30-minute call first, then a sit-down to go through the
work and the agreement.
