How it works
Consulting is billed hourly at our published rate, with a written scope agreed before anything starts, so you are approving a number rather than a range. Most engagements are between four and twelve hours — enough to look properly, not so much that the review costs more than the fix.
You get a written summary at the end. If the recommendation is that you keep your current provider and change nothing, that is what it will say.

Frequently asked questions
Will you just recommend hiring you?
No, and you should judge us on that. Plenty of assessments end with “your setup is fine, spend the money elsewhere.” A consultant who always finds a reason to be hired is not consulting, they are selling.
How long does an assessment take?
Typically four to twelve hours depending on how many sites and systems are involved. We agree the scope and the number in writing before starting.
Do you work with our existing IT provider?
Often, yes. A second opinion does not have to be adversarial, and most competent providers are comfortable with one. We are not trying to take the account unless you ask us to.
What size business is this for?
Most of our work is with businesses running five to a hundred staff. Below that the answers are usually simple enough not to need paying for, and we will tell you so.
